 DEMAND

 JUSTICE

 NOW

Wealth and Disparities in the Black Community, founded by Phelicia Jones in 2013, is an organization that addresses the numerous inequities and historical injustices that Black people have endured in San Francisco for generations. Since the 2015 firing-squad-style execution by San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) of Mario Woods, as caught in viral video, WDBC has been the sole Black-led grassroots San Francisco group fighting for police accountability. Since then our activism has led to the resignation of Police Chief Suhr and the charging of SFPD officers for officer involved shootings. However, the brutality and the racism of the department is systemic and deeply embedded. There is much work yet to do and we hope you'll join us in this fight.
